Legit, Scam or Pyramid Scheme? - Lifestyle Membership Management (LMM) aka Millenium Leisure International (MLI)

By far the most popular thread on my blog a post is “Millenium Leisure International - A bit fishy?“, questioning the legitimacy of what was then called Millenium Leisure International (MLI), and is now called Lifestyle Membership Management (LMM).

At time of writing, there are 178 comments on the post, the majority of them negative. There are the odd positive comments, which to my mind, sound strangely similar to each other. (Each mention something called a “Negatron”?)

Anyway, I though I’d stick this post up to help web-searchers to find the new name (LMM).

Despite all the previous negative comments, LMM is still growing strong, proving that an out the box approach, circumventing the traditional restraints of race, education & conservative upbringing can & will lead to the upliftment of the many!

    Hi David,

I was wondering if you could possibly help me by providing some contact details of the directors or some other senior contacts at Lifestyle Membership Management. Even a registered postal or physical address of the head office will really be helpful.

I would appreciate your urgent assistance in this regard.

    Hi everyone-
I too have unfortunately fallen victim to LMM/MLI. Obvioulsy initillay the big picture of making money and being ble to help those close to me as the driving force, but upon doing my homework realised tat I had only fallen victim to carefully constructed marketing ploy. On numerous occasions I have requested the so called contract they say I signed which states that the memebership fee is non refundable, however its not forthcoming.

In addition, in terms of any financial transaction, should that not be made clear at the time before you sign or join, because when i asked my then MM she did say taht you would get a portion of the money back after administration fees were deducted, but now all of a sudden that is now not the case-.

if there are many people that are out there who are in my shoes I urge that we start some form of a civil claim, I am seing legal people to see the feasibility of this- as I understand in this kind of financial transfer- that clause should be made clear to the prospective memeeber that they will not get their money back-R11K or so however that we paid is a lot of money to not be able to get vback just bcos now i do not want to be in their scam of an organisation

Another thing - the name change comes after they have been in trouble with the financial regulators and the papers, claely indicating that they are a scam- does anyone perhaps have an idea of which papers they have ben cited in cause i would love to follow this up with the respective journalists

Good people, listen to me! These people have run out of disciples! Their flock have deserted them! Their meetings are pitiful huddles compared to the groups of 500 - 600 high income earners, from 6 - 8 months ago. Now they’re pitching their garbage to desperate, simple people in places like Kokstad. Without being racist, our rural black brothers and sisters are far easier bamboozled by the charismatic happy clapper presentation, which is the same week in and out…DON’T FALL 4 THEIR BULLSHIT, ESP NOT NOW, CHANCES ARE POOR THAT YOU”LL GET YOUR CASH BACK! the numbers are dwindling, the tornado has run its course, but trust me, somewhere some scamster is hatching the next scheme….as PT Barnum said “there is one born every minute”

Get someone to invite you to thier presentation and take a decision from there to better your own financial future and become financialy independent, as a person u know excatly where u are standing in terms your current financial status. Look Vimple will not give me R4000.00 at the end of this month but LMM will save it for me. Fuck PT Burman and Negatron’s cause they are there to block opportunities for other people to grow financialy.

All of you negatrons are just that, negative trons. If you never try to be positive you will always be negative. You must tap into the positive energy in you and all the money in the world will be yours. Only stupid trons in the world become negative. We are all trons created from the one great tron. Positronification will be the ultimate achievement in your life. If you join LMM you will see how you can make millions in no time. The money will appear in your bank as fast as it appears in your mind. You just need to pray that the great Tron listens for she will be your salvation. The energy is there in your mind and your body. The training I have done has taught me this.

I am one of those lured by the promise to make money and to help friends in need.Meetings are no longer held in our region, the so called call center number is not working, we did not receive any commision in 3 months. In my mind LMM is a bid scam and prospective investors should be wary. We tried to get our money back after all the promises made by Tom our area manager but to no avail. Tom just keep in mind that the wheel turns and you will get your day.

I wonder what number did scammed dial cause I phoned the call centre today the number is working. And about commission I did receive mine last week. Is like joining the gym were you have access to use the gym’s resources but you don’t and at the end of the day you blame the gym for not developing any muscles. The problem with people is their commitment life span is short. All I can say is LMM works and I have saved time and money when buying stuff let alone making money. So stop complaining and get up start using your benefits the rest will follow.

Mr scammed u are not scammed. The call centre is working 24.seven if u are a paid up member u will smile all the way to the bank at any given time of the month with LMM. For example if u are in Limpopo or anywhere in South Africa u can invite people to attend the presentation say in Pretoria then the marketing manager in charge for your guests will make it a point that you recieve your commissions that u are talking about as long as they paid the joining fee. Take action now and change your life.Remember u are a special member of LMM to enjoy the benefits of the company and make money to become financialy free.

LMM in South Africa works like this.

They invite you to a presentation and you have to dress formally. When you get there, there are sometimes suits at the door to make it all look good. These are also they guys who will bounce you out of the venue if you become a problem. You usually have to pay to attend the presentation.

The presentation starts with a whole thing about how you can get access to this call centre by joining. This call centre is amazing since it can hook you up with all kinds of discounts and even information. After the wonders of the call centre have been made known to you, they move onto how you can make money and lots of it through being an LMM member. When you invite someone and get them to join then you get a commission in the region of R1500. Once you have brought two people on board you become a senior member and then your commission doubles. Everytime the people you invite bring more people on you get more commissions and they show you all kinds of figures and charts that you can’t really take in fast enough.

Once all of this is done you are asked to join. The fee is usually around R12000 ( ex Vat). You get pressurized into joining at that point. Some people don’t want to refuse out of fear of offending their friends.

Thats it. Now that you are a member and you forked out R12000 ( ex Vat) what can you do with your membership…..

You can of course use the call centre to your hearts content. At the end of the day you will save a bit of money here and there. But the real benifit comes from inviting people on board. Here you can make endless money provided you can get people to join.

Heres the crux: The call centre does indeed exist and is the only real “benefit” of using the system. Its like an incentive to make it all seem worthwhile. The truth is that the real point of the whole LMM thing is to get people to join and for them (LMM) to make a lot of money out this.

The call centre is for real and is infact run by plp. Go to plp.co.za for more info. Another person has pointed this out somewhere else before on the blog related to this one.

The PLP Group is a legitimate company and runs such a call centre:

Quoted from plp.co.za under “What We Do”

‘Our 24/7/365 operation is fully accessible via our telephonic and digital platforms, all branded and conducted in your company or brand names. PLP provides a single point of contact to your clients or employees and their immediate family, effectively affording each of them their own “personal assistant”.’

If you are working for certain corporates then you will have access to this call centre and maybe you don’t even know about it. Speak to your HR department if you work for government or for a big corporates. The Holiday Club apparently also provides access to their members.

LMM has an agreement with PLP to allow them to repackage the call centre as part of their own product.

LMM uses it to allow them to entice people to join so that income can be generated from new memberships.

Some people call this a scam some don’t. In theory it can work, you can save money through the call centre and you can make money from bringing people. As with anything. But it requires hard work and you have to be able to convince people to join which is not easy for some. If you are good at doing that then try it and see. Personally I think the joining fees should be made lower to make the whole thing pull in more people. But then commissions would be lower and earnings wouldn’t be as big.

    Decide for yourself

What is Happening to LMM Or MLI this days? As of now most of the loyal members are struggling to get thier return of invesments as the organisation is going through a ruff patch in regaining thie financial strength to sustain they financial management activities to produce millionares in training. Going to the point member s of the management are not making profits as well as senior agents. as this pouse lot of frustration to all the members whom should wait 3 to 4 months in getting thier membership numbers and commissions as per promised at their nite trainings and weekend presentations. Am about to quit the organisation cause now one cant prove the Negatrons wrong to say that the concept is working or not.apparently some of us are good in inviting guest’s to the weekend presentations and join the concept at the cost of R12000.00 and the host will be entitled to R1750.00 that u will have to fight for it with your Marketing Manager. Packages of benefits fantastic and amazing part to save time and money. To Make money at LMM or MLI, I rate them 5%.

I’m also of the opinion that LMM works but now as a memebr who paid R12 000 (exc VAT), I haven’t received my 1st commission in 3 months now. What makes me sick is the fact that they have been promising to pay me, and all I do is wait for a confirmation on my cell which has never come through. Everytime there’s an SMS on my cell I always pray that it’s the deposit from LMM. On a serious note now, these people are driving me insane. Where and how do I get the motivation to invite more people if things like this keep on happening. It’s about time LMM get their act right or people’s lives will be in danger. I’m sick of it. The decent thing they can do is to refund the membership fee I have paid or like I said heads will roll., nxh!!!!

LMM is still strong in all locations its just that yes people have been disheartened with the fact LMM faced a few financial challenges but will pull through as they have been cleared of any pyramid allegations against.

Great news they have proven and gone through the challenges all network/mlm direct sales companies go through.

I am a member who regularly speak with the board of shareholders, their assurance is to sustain LMM and clean up areas that were managed incorrectly by local directors and marketing team. What ha been found a few were mis-representing or mis-selling as you so called for their own benefit, these people are no longer in LMM either returned back to the UK or back to their job in South Africa.

So if you have attended the presentation you must see the value of the benefits, as a member you will only realise the value of the benefits the more you use them i.e Buy a New Mercedez and not having a driving licence to drive, you will not appreciate the value of a Mercedez as you do not drive it. Or buy a latest Home Cinema TV system spend thousands but never at home to watch it as you must go to work to pay it off, isnt one of the greatest benefits, again you will not explore the system in detail, never mind ever turning the first page in the booklet to learn what the TV can do for a more enjoyable experience.

Enough of the analagies, moving on if you attended a presentation great, you will only make money as an agent if you actually use the benefits as living proof.

LMM is not a scheme where it needs your money, they sell a service and will grow based on that service.

LMM now has all the right leaders in all locations that are genuine and want to help individuals not only to understand more about the benefits but how to refer the benefits as well correctly without any mis-representation.

LMM is still here and will be here in 2008, it is your choice to be part of a company now that will grow in 2008.

I have just been to the presentation here in BFN, I browsed the internet a bit, and came upon this article from BEELD newspaper..

    http://www.news24.com/Sake/Maa.....57,00.html

Shocking… just shocking, and I knew it, even as the words came out of the facilitators mouth tonight, I knew it.. that the whole concept is rotten with bad press and rumors.
I am going to copy and paste the article on the blog, because sometimes the news websites dont keep articles for long enough.(But copy and paste the link to see if it works, otherwise e-mail the journalist, whose e-mail appears at the bottom)

The funniest is that the presenter even referred to the internet as being a false source of information, thus only inspiring me to search for the dirt.
Well after reading the post from (exLMMinsider revealing all), who gives the clearest picture of what the general crux is, I must say that I agree.
The post from (Maxi), is also great as it reveals 3 websites that according to my small brain, are precisly the same company, under different names. Also see (http://www.changingtidesgroup.co.za/business_system.htm?businessSystemID=24) for what it is worth, I didn’t ever bother reading, as it looks like the same thing once again.

The only benefit is the the reduced prices, but according to the article, even this, is Bull S%@*.

    Article….

Lees berig hiernaas.

MLI se bedrywighede is in Junie verlede jaar deur The Saturday Independent onthul.

LMM is sowat drie weke ná dié onthulling geregistreer.

Mnr.

“Hierdie tipe ding gebeur gereeld – so vyf of ses keer ’n jaar. Daar is baie liggelowige mense daar buite,” sê hy.

LMM works. I have joined over a year ago and have been to the BFN seminaar lately. I am not working anymore as Lmm is generating a income for me every week. As for the people that moan that LMM is a scam, come on, if the police and all the authorities was looking for these people, why is the company running for the past 8 years and if i could find them why cant the police. I met some of the people who are not happy with LMM, its because they joined and went and sit back and think they will become rich. I have done my bit evry week and seriously can see the difference in my life and my families. Dankie Lmm

    Hi Guys
Let me start by saying the lmm concept is brilliant. It is the type of bussiness of the future. We all need to adapt into the new age. I know it seems scary to adapt, but just think what our forefarthers had to think in the ” groot trek”. Look, I realy think this thing can work. The big problem is that the managers took our money even though they knew that the company was scamed by the so called South Africans. My question is, why havent the so called company notified its members by email or post what the progress is with the outstanding payouts. Now the presenter will tell you that the company is expanding and that there are people like me who will write with bad grammer and we are paid one hegg of a lot of money to bring down the company. He will also tell you(if you’re a member) you should be apart of the sulution and not of the problem. Then he will explain with alot of passion how he is doing you a favour by still presenting the company and will ask if it was a scam, why are they stil there. he will ask you if only one of these things are true, why havent they been closed down?. He will also say that the company hasn’t paid him over R500 000 in commision, but he doesn’t complain. It was the South Africans that scamed the company. I agree i’m not the best in spelling in English, but this is not something that i’m getting paid for. infact my hole complaint is because i’m not getting paid. Nowhe will say they are the good guys in trying to save your money. They could have liqudated and you would have gotten 10c in the rand.
Were are the uk guys now? if this is a R100 000 000 company, why haven’t the uk guys given SA 1 of those miljones to sort out their members. You can’t take them to court, that members contract is worth nothing. They do tell you that you pay R11995 to be apart of the call centre, but dont be fooled, the marketing team that you enter for free within 3 days, is what it is all about.
Nou luister Mnr die aanbieder. Jy het my geld gevat toe jy geweet het die besigheid is in die moeilikheid, so moenie se ons sit en niks doen nie. There’s no correspondance from anyone from the so called LMM company to its members. There is nobody you can phone to enquire about your money or how big your team has become. people, don’t be fooled, any company of this magnatude should have a switchboard and some sort of customer care centre to assist. We live in the 21st century, we landed on the moon may moons ago and this company can’t pay its members in 6months. remember it is a R100 000 000 company in Jhb alone. Don’t think your R11995 wil make a difference. Mr John Paul Getty said that if you show him somebody that can make a quick desicion, he will show you a winner every time, NO is also a desicion. In your own words,Mr Presenter, if in normal bussiness, you don’t pay your top salesman, howlong will he or she stay loyal to your company. You owe us money, please pay our money, stop thretening to cancell our sales agency agreements and let everyone live in harmony together and make the money that can be made. If this company is as big as you say, why does’n lmm controll its country of origan, Canada, not even Toronto? Don’t be stupid. Why cant we record your presentation. Are you hiding something? Is there something you cant defend? Some promisses that Lmm can’t meet? Something like 3 week payouts.(more like 3years it seems). People of South Africa, This is not a scam, I do believe it. It is just a company that has got the wrong poeple in the wrong places and a company with no admin inplace to handle R100 000 000 in sales. Money was lost and will get lost again. Imagine a company like coke tell theire empoyees, the South Africans have scamed us and we try to sort it out. Please keepon selling to assist us assisting you to get your backlock of paytjeks paid out to you. Will they still do bussiness, will the department of labour and goverment allow? Comeone guys, what do you take us for, idiots? Should we still bring our closes friends? I’ve done way more than the required 3, and I don’t get nothing from LMM. Nobody to phone with athority, Nothing. I didn’t have to do anything more than 3 friends and family, but i did. Lmm fact of life, everything in, nothing out. You do your best, be loyal, support the presentations, phone to motivate your downlines, and Lmm will garentee No payments in 3 months, bu you’ll get the best coffe they get for free. Fact of life. Now don’t go answer that phone of your’s when those downlines phone you to complain about the non payments. No no no don’t do that, do it the Lmm and African way. Hurry up and wait. Waitingstyle membership management will only pay you wile you a new member. When somebody steels theire money again, and it is when not if,(lack of admin system) you also will not be paid. We made the sales when they needed it most to sort out theire bulldust, and now they spit us out like a piece of chewed up gum. Thanks alot LMM. you’re the best!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Guys
I was coerced by a friend to join in 2006 and managed to sign up 1 customer (a friend who has since stopped talking to me).
As a lecturer in finance i should have known better.
Having done the calculations,in order for LMM to survive for the next couple of years it will have to recruit more funds than all the money available in the world ( the forex markets trade about usd 1.6 trillion daily).

The fact that the business model expands indefinitely creates the pyramid structure.

NO LARGE AMERICAN corporation has grown by more than 15% p.a in the last 30 years.
Just a thought R10000 with Allen Gray in 1974 would be worth R64000000-the same amount whereby LMM POTENTIALLY PROMISES TO EXCEED IN TWO YEARS.
The greatest investor today,Warren Buffett has been able to compound growth at just over 20%p.a over 40 odd years.
For LMMs potential returns you could compound at over 80% per MONTH-impossible over a short period even.

Sorry guys, were undergoing a very tough economic slowdown right now and for people to fork out over 13k to support other people in a structure with no real product (LOTS OF CREDIT CARD COMPANIES AND BANK ACCOUNT PACKAGES WILL OFFER SIMILAR BENEFITS TO THE CALL CENTRE)-is sick and aint gonna happen.

Best case scenario-invest and recoup your cash plus a few extra bob AND LOSE THE FAITH/TRUST OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS LMM SUBSIDES INTO oblivion.
Worst case scenario-READ BEST CASE SCENARIO!
SORRY (NOT A NEGATRON JUST A REALIST)

Verduidelik asb dit vir my Tom.

Ek sal egter hierby volstaan. My persoonlike opinie is dat hulle ‘n tipe piramide bedryf. Ek sal met enigiemand, posetief of negatief, my ervaring deel +27825720420.

    Hi

I have a client who is considering investing funds in a business which sean lindgren has created. Can anyone tell me exactly what he has allegedly done with regard to LMM in SA?

Apparently he has fled the seen after leaving the company in many financial difficulties. He will blame others, accepts no responsibility. How can someone be a Director and be responsible, he is not a man. He is a coward and has left the company in South Africa in a mess along with losing shareholder and investor funds. Sean Lindgren has made enemies, if the business is to with network marketing or mlm stay away from him as he under investigation in South Africa whom are working with the British High Commission here and the South African High Commission in London in order to have him extradited from the UK to face the IRS, Reserve Bank and DTI once the case goes to high court. The prosecution are currently gathering all the neccessary evidence against the directors of the company. Creditors and Shareholders have been contacted for the amounts they are owed and Sean Lindgren is currently a large Debtor to LMM.
