Millenium Leisure International – A bit fishy?
I was invited to attend a presentation for Millenium Leisure International. I wasn’t given much in the line of details, just “It’s not a pyramid scheme, go see the presentation”. Initially, I was game, until I heard some of the word on the street, about fraud, investigation, etc.
A quick SA google retrieved the following results:
If ABSA has frozen their bank account, and the Reserve Bank and the SAPS are investigating them, then I don’t want anything to do with it. From what I can tell from the IOL reports (I haven’t seen the presentation, so I can’t say for sure), whether it’s classified as a pyramid scheme or not, your return on investment is based on how many of your friends you can drag along and sign up.
I don’t do that to my friends.

My girlfriend has recently joined Prefect 4 U. Is this some sort of pyramid scheme\scam? It sounds to me as it is and she will not believe a thing I say about it. Please could you advise?? Looking forward to hearing your views.
P.S. She was also email a document (that she sent to me) called “Letter on behalf of Perfect 4 U” and at the end of the document it states that it’s from “John Folster – Landis & Associates,

She says that she hasn’t been asked to pay anything to them yet. From what she’s told me (she is very vague about it), she basically signs people up to perfect4u at R4000 and they get a benefits card that entitles them to benefits from over 1700 companies in South Africa. I’ve searched long and hard and found not one company here that offers this service. Also she says that she gets a basic salary and commission from signing people up. Apparently their launch was this weekend and when asked if I could come along I was told that only people that where invited could come… But how do you get invited if there was no media coverage about it???
thats LMM indeed. there is no basic, just comm for ripping people off. those services are a lie! and members don’t even get membership details.

she made promises that were never kept (based on this companies lies) and found herself in more debt than ever when out of guilt tried to repay people what they lost.

Well at the moments she’s even too busy to see me, she always has training till late at night and works weekends from morning till late night. Last weekend was the first time she worked (at the launch) and she is working this weekend again. Yes, the website is “under construction” (www.perfect4u.co.za) and yes they are all smartly dressed and are apparently earning millions. She went for a first interview and out of about 150 she was taken into the top 20. And went off to Sun City for training for a weekend. After that she was chosen in the to 10 or 15 and they got the job. I have warned her and she doesn’t listen. I’m hoping I can get through to her before it’s too late…

I attended that LMM presentation yesterday and to be honest, also saw the typical Pyramid scheme effect. What scared me is that you have to pay the RXXX within 24hrs and if you miss the cut off, you’re unable to reapply for 12 months. Now honestly, if the scheme is legit, why would they stop you from joining within 12 months??? I very good friend joined 2 months ago and made some $$ and that’s how I was invited, Honestly, the morality is the biggest thing because the only way to make your money back is to trap others into your ‘spot’ and then you could ‘walk away’
Hi KitKat, was this the one for Perfect4u? If your friend joined two months ago, why was my girlfriend told to keep quiet about the company until the “launch”? As it was a “new” company in South Africa. Makes you wonder. Could you shed some light as how the whole scheme works please?

I attended a LMM meeting yeterday (Sunday 1 July 07) at the Living Waters Rivers Church opposite Checkers Supermarket, Hyper on Sea.
My gut tells me to beware. My brain says the same. My spirit was uncomfortable (black dressed heavies manning the door, barking orders into a megaphone) Hence how I ended up on this blog. Of course I had to pay R50 to attend. I estimated about 500 people.
Funny thing though is that I could not help but notice that there were very few white folk other than those dressed ominously in black either manning the doors, looking somewhat menacingly and the lady that presented the last (4th) part the “presenation” in a somewhat shrill fashion. With respect, there were a large number of attendees (black bretheren) that had an air of desparation abut them. Something not uncommon in these difficult economic times most people find themselves in.
My reaction to this observation (which may well be wrong) was that surely one should target the race group that has a better chance of having R12000 disposal income to hand. i.e. white folk.
Deven you mention that your wife says members have the potential of benefits from 1700 companies. We were told yesterday that benefits are availbale from over 90 000 (ninety thousand) affiliates “in South Africa”! All this from a company that started in February 2006. Now while that may not be beyond the realms of possibility, I cannot but help to find it incredulous at best.

Yes, 1700 companies. I’ve searched the net and found not one offering any sort of service to do with perfect4u. I’ve found another link saying that a new scam has just launched in South Africa, post is dated as 1st April 2007. This was from a guy that worked at perfect4u, so how could they have launched the weekend? Strange.

No doubt dodge – here’s another brain teaser, why would any legit business meet at a coffee shop after hours. Bearing in mind that you’ll receive a call if the venue changes somehow. In all honesty, I’m bobbing and weaving this one. My insurance broker meets with client outside office hours but always at a venue of your choice (eg. your house) and always offeres signed documents to validate the meetings. How now with LMM?

they change their venue all the time. this means if you have been once, unless ur a member u dont go again, so the keep the show on the road at different places.

Reading this, It seems that there is a lot of fustrated people from Real deal to accomplished wanker. It is clear that some people is not getting enough sex. Real deal your comments are not fair, you have made a lot of money why don’t you give it back if you so strongly feel that injustice had been done to the people. I heard that an events company that wasn’t paid by the Fat Bastard have hours of tapes from a training meeting – some of the footage shows Fitzpatrick in the background and some very clear shots of his family (wife kids and parents). Loads of other “celebs” like the UK crew. It could be interesting if this surfaces. Apparently a summons has ben issued and the events company won’t atlk about it as its sub judice but word is that if they get no joy they will post the footage on youtube!
My concern is that the very people who are in need of money – African people mainly – are the ones that are being targetted. A colleague has just been to a meeting and was all excited – about to try and borrow the R11000 to join until I persuaded him to read the letters etc. This whole ‘scheme’ is very similar to one launched in 2001/2002 – based in USA and the joining fee was [I think] in Dollars which came to moree than R2 ot R4 thousand….and I saw many of my colleagues borow money and after the first few dollars paid to them the whole scheme ‘died’ and there was a huge media coverage of the pyramid scheme…Dont cheat the poorer people they are already desperate and ready to try anything to feed their families……….
With nothing else appealing to comment on here, I’ve managed to become rather engrossed in this blog. It’s like a deeply entwined soap opera with thickening plots.
Obviously you ppl know each other. I feel a bit left out because although I lead a very active social life in many circles, I haven’t been invited to a meeting. I guess this means they haven’t reached as broad as they would have liked to and many areas are still untainted or unhelped- whichever way u look at it.
So you say I have to be invited to a meeting I’ll be told nothing about and I have to pay? Sounds like a cheap date I went on the other night. This blogs been going on well long so I’ll assume this scheme has been here as long or longer. Fiscal policy will not allow any large scale esp international/foreign business to operate uninvestigated for such a lenghty period of time.
My guess is it’s been looked into, government found a way to benefit i.e taxes, creation of employment, more institutional lending lowers the rate of loans by banks competing, more professional forms of social interaction so many things I’m too pissed to think of now.
All I have to say is strike while the iron’s hot and those of you who were given the opportunity- use it! Maybe my frnd was on to something when he probed about my retirement plans and investments ???

Joining LMM, was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It gave me the opportunity to earn to my true potential.
Things have changed in my personal life. I bought a new car after 3months in and now looking to buy a house.
I too was nervous when joining LMM. Yes, I did all the necessary homework before I joined. LMM IS NOT A PYRAMID SCHEME! Do you know what a PS is? PS are Ilegal! LMM is 100% Legal!
My advise to ppl is>Do what you think is right. If you could not afford the money to join dont post crap on such sites to prevent other ppl to be successful. Jealousy will get you no where in life.
To ppl that are open minded and looking for an opportunity. This could be the steping stone to financial freedom.

The principal of LMM, Rob Fitzpatrick has been identified as a scamster and is abbend from running a company in the UK. If this business is legitamate why the need for secrecy? Even though I know the providers of these benefits, they won’t know me when I call. Why? Probably because there are certain channels the data must travel for it to get discounted as it should. Not everyone in every customer service call center is trained to know about every deal the company makes. In fact, most customer service call centers really know very little about anything outside their tiny realm of training. Call centers are typically outsourced and the people you talk to only know what is put on their computer screen when you call.
As such, I feel it is a fair assessment to say that this company needs some stronger management and better organization, but unfair to shout SCAM at the first sign of a business opportunity. Though that emotional reaction does happen a lot, and is rarely based on facts and as such needs to be taken lightly.
People love rumors.
People love gossip.
I’d say, just make your own mind up. The internet is full of crazy people
Follow your heart, use your instincts, and for gods sake, just because you can make money from home on multi leveled paylines, it doesn’t equal “pyramid scheme”.
Buy the product, not the business. Use the business as a perk. Use the product to get what you paid for.

Hi all.I am 22 years old from Klerksdorp North West. I just want to say Ive joined MLi last year Septemer. At first it was real good I also borrowed the money. I made about R30000-00 it was all good. Here is where the tricky part comes in JUSTIN CAVE!!! He told me Im doing good and if I want to become a Marketing manager with him I can..so what did I do…? I quit my job! I had an Excellent IT job that paid good I had a House a car and everything. Justin promised me about 10 times the peolpe that I sign up,I will get the money for that…but I never did. I did everything for free Went to 2 meetings in a week(one in klerksdorp and one in Pretoria) I went to Training nights in Johannesburg and all of this on my one cost! I helped him to get money for all the new members that I signed up.And you know what Ive lost everything just because of him! I had to borrow another R20000-00 to go thru an agent to get a working holiday visa to go to England. Now just because of all this sh#t I am not with my family and friends and I am really unhappy but it is the only way because in South Africa there is no more job oppertunity for a young white man. O yes and the other thing was I signed up my parents as well they had about 5 members signed up with them and still today they did not recieve ANY money. My mother was promised every day that they will pay her tommorow and It was going on like this for 2 months she still not get paid. So guys this is my storie. I hope Justin Cave will go to HELL,thats how unhappy I am!!!

It’s amazing how people can post comments without getting their facts straight. Fatty – how do you sleep at night after posting personal info of INNOCENT people on the internet. What if some of these ladies, (or men) get attacked or worse, because you posted personal info on a site that is open to the public and any nutcase who misinterprets something can read it. I dont quite know where you fit in to all of this. But even my friends who havwe been affected by this whole LMM thing whould never dream of coming after someone personally. At the end of the day they are just as much victims of what has happend as the next person. You don’t know how much they know/knew about what is going on. I believe that the concept behind LMM could have/has worked for some people depending on who thay are, if they were willing to put in the effort. The only thing is that the call centre was/is crap. The joining fees are very high and having to fork out that much money should never be done without doing a little bit of research. i.e. – people stumble upon this site, just like me.
Let’s say hypothetically speaking that this new company that is being launched is different to LMM, what then? Are these people still scammers? What if they saw what was happening and decided to do this new thing based on them being people who want to sleep at night with a clear consciouns… I am all for getting what I want legally and if there is anyone who has a case against LMM of MLI or whatever, great and good luck, but don’t gun for people who have left the company to start something new.
As for you fatty – I like to see the best in people, but in you, with what you have done to these people who have families and loved ones that are now probably in danger… I dont think – that you think before you say or do.
@ Lee, I give the people full credit for trying to start a new company after the previous one has failed. But lets be realistic here, this isn’t the first time that they are trying again. They have failed time and time again and I personally think it’s time these guys put this to rest. They are ruining peoples lives and just walking over everyone. Sure, some people do benefit from it but lets face it, these people are only in it for personal gain. The people running these companies don’t care about the people below them. I have lost a person very close to me to this whole MLM\LMM\MLI thing. She isn’t the same person as before. She is loosing friends because all she thinks about is work. It isn’t a healthy way to live. Her bosses work her so hard just to make them the money. She was the sweetest caring and loving person I have ever know. But now she is ill tempered and moody. She has lost that spark that was once in her voice. She doesn’t care about the dreams and aspirations she once had. She has been brainwashed into thinking that working is the only important thing in her life. Sure she has dreams, but abandoning your friends, family and loved ones for money… I don’t know about that. There are many paths to happiness. I’m not saying she isn’t making the money either, she well might be. But is it worth working your life away? Say for instance one of her family members pass away, she will regret working 24\7 not so. Money is replaceable, friends, family and loved ones are not. Why work your life away when there is so much more to life….?
@ Deven, I’m sorry to hear about your situaton. With regards to what you said on the people launching a new company, they are not the same people who started LMM. My friend has been working for LMM for quite some time and has recently left because of not getting paid. She told me that many of the managers have left becuase of the company being investigated by SARS. Is this lady still with LMM or has she left LMM?
Not the same people who started LMM yes but people that where involved very high up in Perfect4u, which is the company that is under investigation apparently. She wasn’t with LMM, she was with the previously mentioned company. Apparently it’s all the same people that have been involved all along anyways. The new company they have started is Exclusive Options as mentioned by fatty above. Whether or not this new company will be successful I cannot say. But if it’s based on the same structure as Perfect4u (and it sounds like it is) it is doomed to fail in my opinion. I have made a number of posts higher up on the page. Read them to understand what I mean… But that’s the thing with these types of jobs\schemes\scams, people that are high up make all the money, people at the bottom do all the work and get walked all over.
One of the difference between a legitimate business and a multi level marketing scheme\scam is that in a legitimate business ANY employee has the chance to become a manager\CEO or whatever. In a MLM scheme\scam those channels are not there. There is no way a person at the bottom of the pyramid can even work themselves up and have a fair chance at owning the company one day.

Don’t you know that its a closed user group DEVEN. Closed user groups earn money by word of mouth advertising. If you go sign up at a gym, they ask you (Virgin Active) to give you the names of 10 friends they can invite to the gym and in return you get a month or two free. The principle is exactly the same just on a large scale.
MIRINDA yes and no – it is a way to make extra money by not leaving your currant job, it depends and you as a person individually. If you are serious about changing your life, why not you.

Don’t be fooled LMM is still under investigation and they have the Scorpions breathing down their necks.
Any legitimate company would be able to disclose the location of their offices and be able to provide telephone numbers and a registered VAT number.
But wait, how can you possibly get this information when they move offices every 3-6 months and change the company name and along with it the VAT number.
In 2006 they were MLI (Millennium Leisure International).
In January 2007 they became known as LMM (Lifestyle membership management).

Anyone been introduced to the Success University as yet? I know of many people that left the LMM/MLI thing to join the Success University. One on the Marketing managers of LMM who apparently made over R100 000 left LMM to join Success University. He said he left LMM because he couldnt track his commisions, but with Success University, everything is tracked.
The poor guy left his permanent job to get sucked in to LMM, now he is unemployed. Hope his apparent R100 000 keeps him afloat.
Most marketing managers left good paying jobs to get sucked into the mind numbing crap that is LMM/MLI. If there are still managers they should get out while they can or they will be left with nothing.
Some have families but are too blind or just plain stooopid (lets say stooopid means they have been brain washed) to realize they are in a no win situation. They are slaves, free-labour to the UK owners and the system they have put in place. They work 7 days a week and have to wait to get lucky over the weekend to get cash off innocent people believing they are going to get rich with LMM.
Just check the cars the Managers drive, nothing fancy, nothing special. They wear suits they bought in Edgars and Truworths. They are desperate just like the people they get to attend the presentations. Success University is a Pyramid scheme. It is operating without any business identity, no tax number, no business address etc. Shouldn’t that sound an alarm?

These people are very good, quoting people like Robert Kiyosaki etc.
I am priviledged in that, the work I do allows me to access certain info to test the legitimacy of companies/schemes etc.
This is a plea to people to please take their brains along if invited, do not let emotions get the better of you, do not sign up immediately (no matter what the pressure or being labelled a negatron), do a little bit of a research and listen to your internal voice. Rather lose R50 than the required -R12K.
I am not going to state all the wrong things about this scheme but will simply say this, If your income is dependant on you bringing someone into the scheme and that process being carried on by the people you bring, then no matter how much you may defend that particular business, it is a pyramid scheme.I hope those who have joined make their money back(at what cost?). The truth of the matter is that there are people who will lose their money as all businesses (pyramid schemes) have a life cycle and the people who join this scheme late are bound to lose their money. Do not get me wrong, there are people who will make money but can your conscience allow you to keep making money or introducing close friends and family knowing very well that they might be the last one who loses their money, when this thing goes pear shaped and believe me it will, maybe not in the next 6 months but it will. This brings to question whether you value attaining that lifestyle at whatever cost?

I was just informed by a very good friend of mine that he joined and have already received R6000 within about a months time. (maybe a bit longer). I was never in my life ever involved in a pyramid schem and i dont think i will ever be. I was taken to a presentation on the Network 21 scheme a while ago and i also have my doubts.
I have learned in my 25 years on mother earth that the only way to make money is to apply your mind to something and go through with it. You do not always have to work hard to earn good money, but rather apply your mind on the “correct” things. Think of people who have invented something. No hard word in having a brilliant idea and actually going through with it. You will never in your life earn money legally and fair by doing nothing. Getting people to join a scheme, i see as doing nothing. Relying on friends and family to basically pay your commission at the end of the day….i don’t see that as fair.
I have worked hard to achieve what i have in life so far. I earn a decent amount of money and this will grow over time. I am pretty happy to work on life as such to live my life fai and to make my millions not neccesarily by working hard, but to apply my mind.
I will not make other people rich. i will rather support my friends and family with my extra hard earned cash in my back pocket.

After reading all of the above I need to comment. I am one of those ex LMM members, ex LMM managers, ex Exclusive Option managers.
I joined LMM with the dreams and aspirations. As all managers need to do I made 5 direct sales, therefore making my money back. My downlines did give me money I would never otherwise have made. Then I became manager, because I wanted others to achieve what I had. Every month I had dragged myself through to pay day, only to have the money go as fast as it hit my bank. LMM gave me extra cash to do things my family always wanted. The heartbreaking thing about being a manager is seing the failures together with successes. Yes, LMM can make you money, but not everyone achieves this. And I agree, anyone saying they join for the benefits is talking hogwash!!! Then the bank accounts of LMM were frozen due to money being taken out the country illegally. And of course the top brass denied any wrong doing – but isn’t it amazing that every UK guy had left the country, except Dizzy from Cape Town. So we were approached by a totally South African based group to help start up Exclusive Options. Finally a way to correct some of the wrongs. But, excepting a very few, I don’t think any of our hearts were in it. We had promised our members at LMM that the top brass was not going to do a duck with their money, and look what happened. Put this together with the constant bickering and threats between the 2 companies, it wasn’t long before most of us had left Exclusive Options.
I left well grounded career to become a manager because I wanted to help change lives. I have not given up on doing my own business, I am just vary wary about what I get involved with in the future. It’s back to a 8 to 5 job, but at least my heart is at peace with what I am doing.
Those managers were not out to defraud you, they had made money and wanted to help others. You guys think you didn’t have transparency, well neither did we. When the accounts were frozen in July 2007, we were given sugar coated stories. It was only when the truth was told to us, and when the UK guys only contacted a select few when they realised there management ship was sinking, did we see LMM for what it really was – a puppet show with Rob and George manipulating the strings.
Just ask yourself, when 90% of the management, including the so called AMD’s, the ‘bouncers’ and the admin staff leave. When the ‘offices’ are closed in a day and the staff tell you on their cellphone that they were told the company was liquidated. When application forms around this time go missing, and the mistake blamed on the managers that have left, is this all above board???

LMM is still strong in all locations its just that yes people have been disheartened with the fact LMM faced a few financial challenges but will pull through as they have been cleared of any pyramid allegations against LMM.

I am a member who regularly speak with the board of shareholders, their assurance is to sustain LMM and clean up areas that were managed incorrectly by local directors and marketing team. What has been found a few were mis-representing or mis-selling as you so called for their own benefit, these people are no longer in LMM either returned back to the UK or back to their job in South Africa.
So if you have attended the presentation you must see the value of the benefits, as a member you will only realise the value of the benefits the more you use them i.e Buy a New Mercedez and not having a driving licence to drive, you will not appreciate the value of a Mercedez as you do not drive it. Or buy a latest Home Cinema TV system spend thousands but never at home to watch it as you must go to work to pay it off, isnt one of the greatest benefits, again you will not explore the system in detail, never mind ever turning the first page in the booklet to learn what the TV can do for a more enjoyable experience.
Enough of the analagies, moving on if you attended a presentation great, you can earn money as an agent if you actually use the benefits as living proof.
LMM is not a scheme where it needs your money, they sell a service and will grow based on that service.
LMM now has all the right leaders in all locations that are genuine and want to help individuals not only to understand more about the benefits but how to refer the benefits as well correctly without any mis-representation.
LMM is still here and will be here in 2008, it is your choice to be part of a company now, that will grow big in 2008.

I would like to say that in South Africa after months of investigations by the NPA and the special commercial crime unit that LMM is not an alleged pyramid scheme. All members that have paid for their membership are being serviced for 3 years so you have benefits, which you will only realise if you actually use your membership. Those that joined to become an agent can continue to make sales as if the company was illegal or a scam then the authorities will have acted and frozen all company activities. Of course if it was a scam then LMM would not be here today!
I want everyone to look at themselves and look where you went wrong as opposed to blaming someone else, some other company as LMM look at their own weaknesses, strengths and mistakes like all companies do, learn from them and grow to be bigger and better.

I have heard that Perfect4u are now being closed.
Their lawyers in Gibralter stopped acting on their behalf and some very serious questions are being asked about Fitzpatrick and Singh by the authorities there.

I got ripped off Vinesh Parmar (sometimes uses Vincent instead of Vinesh). He lives in Auckland, NZ but hails from Fiji. His father and him own Parmars Lautoka boots and shoes importing company in Fiji. He has ripped off many people and I would like to get my money back. Any information on this conman would be most welcome.
